New sense reverted edit
I added another sense (electoral district) that was reverted. This is clearly an attested usage of ward: we even have a wikipedia article on it (see: wikipedia:Ward_(country_subdivision)) Scott Ritchie 19:38, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

What meaning is used in wardroom? --Backinstadiums (talk) 11:35, 13 January 2020 (UTC) Officers' quarters. I would guess "ward" in this sense is like "guard" or "defender". Basically a very ancient word for "officer". Akin to "warden". My two cents worth. 120.29.110.105 16:07, 9 January 2021 (UTC)
