Automatic transliteration of Greek
I notice you discussing automatic transliteration as part of possible revision of {{l}}
. Back in 2009 User:Conrad.Irwin was addressing this question ([here], in case you aren't aware), we discussed it (User talk:Conrad.Irwin/¹#Automatic Transliteration of Greek), and I created (or amended) an algorithm to achieve it. It's a while ago now - and he hasn't been around lately, but please get in touch if you want help.
Greek is a pretty easy case, so I really should do that one next.
Whoops, I wasn't aware of this...
el-translit is almost ready.
Copied from User talk:Saltmarsh, and harking back to 2009 and : Perhaps this needs rethinking. The 'old' transliteration scheme attempted to follow international standards (or what we thought these were) but with an eye on ease of keyboard entry. So perhaps this discussion should be revisited.
This is particularly so if it will be possible to bot-strip out old manual transciptions from {{l|el}}
and {{el-l}}
and thus maintain consistency. If {{l}}
is being redesigned perhaps this will happen anyway?
