editHi, sorry but I had to delete some material from Gocek because there's no evidence of surnames being formed from pronouns like "he" or "it". The origins of this surname are unclear; we really need an experienced linguist for this. Regarding surnamedb.com, it appears a bit unprofessional to me. Hergilei (talk) 10:01, 9 July 2017 (UTC)

Gacek may refer to bats: https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gacek_(nietoperze) According to this article, Gacek was a nickname for a person with large ears: http://www.dziennikzachodni.pl/artykul/700369,uszok-nosol-oslizlo-o-pochodzeniu-slaskich-nazwisk,id,t.html However, I'm not certain that Gacek and Gocek are in any way related.
