The Higgs Boson was discovered in 2012 and its identity was confirmed through 2012 and 2013, culminating in the awarding of the Nobel Prize in physics to two of the physicists that conceived of its existence and purpose. This is no longer a hypothetical particle, but a confirmed particle.

Thanks for catching that. This particular page (in contrast to the actual dictionary entry Higgs boson) hasn't been updated in an overly long time. - -sche (discuss) 17:13, 6 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
