abandonnement m (plural abandonnements)

  1. (dated) The act of giving up or surrendering when faced with something.
  2. (dated) Moral neglect.
  3. (dated) The act of abandoning; abandonment.
  4. (dated) The state resulting of such an act.
  5. (law) The transfer of goods or other values in a situation of indivision that allow all owners to receive their share.

Usage notesEdit

  • In all but the legal sense, abandon is now used instead.
