aldeilis
Icelandic
editEtymology
editFrom Danish aldeles, partly from al- + -deles, derived from del (compare Danish særdeles, Icelandic sérdeilis), and partly from Medieval Danish alleledis, derived from led (“way”) (compare Icelandic leið and svoleiðis), which became conflated with the former, perhaps by metathesis.
