EtymologyEdit

From Proto-Albanian *bleg ̊, from Proto-Indo-European *b(h)le- ‎(to bleat). Cognate to Ancient Greek βληχάομαι ‎(blēkháomai, to bleat).[1] Also compare Old Church Slavonic блѣꙗти ‎(blějati, bleat), Old English blagettan, blǣgettan ‎(cry). An onomatopoeic root, enlarged with the suffix -ëró/í-.
