Spanish edit

Etymology edit

From Late Latin cappa + an unclear suffix -er- + the suffix -ūcea. Sometimes derived from Medieval Latin caperō (hood, esp. as worn by monks of the Franciscan order) (genitive singular caperōnis), but that appears to be a borrowing from Old French chaperon (hood), with the same unclear suffix.

Noun edit

caperuza f (plural caperuzas)

  1. hood
