     Two systematic review and meta-analysis studies of randomized controlled trials by ingestion of soy isoflavones in menopausal women revealed a significant improvement in lumbar spine BMD, significant decrease in urine deoxypyridinoline as a bone resorption marker, improvement in bone strength and decrease in the risk of fracture, but did not affect the serum alkaline phosphatase and osteocalcin as bone formation markers.
