dí- (“from”) +‎ Proto-Celtic *logīti (“to lay”, causative of *legeti (“to lie”)), from Proto-Indo-European *logʰ-éye-ti (“to lay”). Cognate with Welsh go-lo (“to cover”) and English to lay. See Proto-Indo-European *legʰ-.
