Etymology edit
Diminutive of dredhë using -ëz, merger of sing. *dradhë and pl. *dredh, from Proto-Albanian *dradzā, from Proto-Indo-European *dʰreh₂ǵ-seh₂, from *dʰreh₂ǵ- (“berry”). Cognate with Sanskrit द्राक्षा (drā́kṣā), Latin frāgum. Alternatively from dredh (“twist”).[1]
