hellenistisch
Dutch edit
Etymology edit
Probably borrowed, either from French or German. Equivalent to hellenist + -isch. Helleen is attested only slightly earlier, so a derivation from that word is not very likely.
Pronunciation edit
Adjective edit
hellenistisch (comparative hellenistischer, superlative meest hellenistisch or hellenistischt)
- Hellenistic [from late 18th c.]
