1. (golf) Characteristic of a links (golf course situated on dunes near the sea).

     Ames agrees with the general early assessment of Turnberry, that it's not quite completely linksy, with some forced carries, particularly on the par-3s, and requires particularly straight driving because the rough is up (and usually wet) and 22 new bunkers have been added, many at go-or-no-go distances, to swallow up the timid or at least steer them the long way around.
