Ellipsis of יאָשקע פּאַנדרע (yoshke pandre). The first part from the above, as though it were a nickname for ישו (yeshu, “Jesus”). The second part from Latin Panthera, the name of the Roman soldier alleged by some to have fathered Jesus.
