Ultimately from Ancient Greek σκηνή (skēnḗ, scene, stage). Specifically via Russian сце́на (scéna, stage, scene), and reinforced by cognates (e.g. English scene).

סְצֵנָה (s'tzénaf (plural indefinite סְצֵנוֹת, singular construct סְצֵנַת־)

    1. A part from a story that stands by itself and is a part of a complete fiction writing or film.
    2. The location of an event that attracts attention.
    3. A dramatic and exaggerated behaviour, an act that brings unnecessary attention to oneself, especially through a public expression (as in to make a scene).
