Persian edit

Etymology edit

From Middle Persian [script needed] (*kʾsk' /kāsag/) (compare Baluchi کاسگ (kāsag, bowl)), possibly from Old Persian 𐎣𐎠𐎿𐎣 (kāsaka, semi-precious stone, glass), or perhaps related to Sanskrit कोश (kośa, pot, cask, cup). Likely not related to Sanskrit काच (kāca, glass).
