Etymology edit

Inherited from Proto-Turkic *yudruk (fist), with secondary contamination from یومرو (yumru, round, globular, spherical). Cognate with Azerbaijani yumruq, Bashkir йоҙроҡ (yoźroq), Chuvash чӑмӑр (čămăr), Kazakh жұдырық (jūdyryq), Kyrgyz жудурук (juduruk), Turkmen ýumruk and Yakut сутурук (suturuk).
