From an unattested verb consisting of आ (ā, “to, in, at”, preverb) + पण् (paṇ, “to trade”, root).

- अहम् आपणम् गच्छामि। ― aham āpaṇam gacchāmi. ― I am going to the shop. (literally, “I go to the shop.”)
- अहो आपणात् बहिः एव छत्रं विस्मृतवती। ― aho āpaṇāt bahiḥ eva chatraṃ vismṛtavatī. ― O I forgot the umbrella outside the shop itself.
