1. A historical county of Scotland (also previously known as Linlithgowshire or the County of Linlithgow) which was abolished in 1975, then becoming a district in Lothian Region.
2. A council area of Scotland, one of 32 created in 1996 on the abolition of Lothian Region and other regions.
