Old Saxon edit

Etymology edit

From Proto-West Germanic *bidreugan. Equivalent to bi- +‎ driogan.

Pronunciation edit

  • IPA(key): /biˈdriɑ̯ɣɑn/
  • Possibly IPA(key): /biˈdriɔ̯ɣɑn/, but the spelling with ⟨io⟩ is rare, so that it is not certain whether it might be a mere writing convention copied from Old Dutch and Old High German.

Verb edit

bidriogan

  1. to mislead, deceive
