Ancient Greek δίσκος (dískos) (nominative plural δίσκοι (dískoi)). Doublet of dais, desk, disc, discus, dish, and disk.

- (Christianity, chiefly Eastern Orthodoxy) A small plate used to hold eucharistic bread which is to be consecrated; a paten.

- In the Western Churches, the term paten is preferred.
