From the obsolete interjection hoj. Compare Dutch hoi, English hoy. See also ohoj (“ahoy”).

- (somewhat colloquial) to holler (shout, often to attract attention)
- Hojta till om ni behöver nåt!
- Holler if you need anything! (with the optional till expressing suddenness and short duration)
