Etymology edit

From Proto-Albanian *lentā, possibly from Proto-Indo-European *lenteh₂,[1] from a tentative root *lent-, or a wanderword. Compare Old High German linta (linden), Lithuanian lentà (board), Proto-Slavic *lǫtъ (bast). Possibly connected with lëndinë (heath, pasture).
