Etymology edit

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish میملمك (mimlemek, to mark something with م (m) as a sign that it has been noted),[1] from the first letter of Ottoman Turkish مهم (mühim, important, urgent),[2] morphologically mim +‎ -le +‎ -mek.
