- Henning Andersen, Language Contacts in Prehistory: Studies in Stratigraphy (2003, →ISBN, page 184: So the word for “water” in Walmajarri (Western Ngumpin) and Warlpiri (Yapa) is ngapa, but ngawa in Gurindji (Eastern Ngumpin). We reconstruct proto-Ngumpin-Yapa *ngapa.
