From Proto-Brythonic *pọb, from Proto-Celtic *kʷākʷos (compare Old Irish cách), from Proto-Indo-European *kʷeh₂-kʷo-; cognate with Old Church Slavonic какъ (kakŭ, “what kind of”) and Lithuanian kõks (“what kind of”).
