preparation time (countable and uncountable, plural preparation times)

(cooking) The amount of time required to gather all necessary ingredients and utensils.
(education) The time during which a teacher or member of faculty is not required to be in contact with a student for the purpose of instruction or supervision.
Time spent preparing for something.
