Etymology edit
From αποτελειώ(νω) (apoteleió(no)) + -μα (-ma),[1] as from the mediaeval verb ἀποτελειώνω (apoteleiṓnō),[2] from the Hellenistic Koine Greek ἀποτελειόω (apoteleióō) / ἀποτελειῶ (apoteleiô), hence the formal pronunciation without synizesis. Compare to αποτέλειωμα (apotéleioma).[3]
