Etymology edit

Inherited from Old East Slavic *бѣлоѫсъ (*běloǫsŭ), from Proto-Slavic *běloǫsъ, from *bělъ (white) + *ǫ̃sъ (moustache). Cognate with Russian белоу́с (beloús), Czech bělovous.
