From Old Belarusian небо (nebo), from Old East Slavic небо (nebo), from Proto-Slavic *nebo, from Proto-Balto-Slavic *néba, from Proto-Indo-European *nébʰos. Doublet of не́ба (njéba, “heaven, sky”), a borrowing from Old Church Slavonic.
