Etymology edit

Inherited from Old East Slavic ночьлѣгъ (nočĭlěgŭ), from Proto-Slavic *noťьlěgъ. Equivalent to ніч (nič, night) +‎ лежа́ти (ležáty). Compare Russian ночле́г (nočlég), Belarusian начле́г (načljéh), Polish nocleg, Czech nocleh, Slovak nocľah.
