Etymology edit

Unclear, see орчих (orčix, to rotate) (Proto-Mongolic *horčï- ), эчих (ečix, to go far away) (Proto-Mongolic *eci- ).

  1. to go, to come
    Номын санд очих хэрэгтэй.
    Nomyn sand očix xeregtej.

    Би өнөө орой танайд очих гэсэн юм.

Usage notes edit

  • очих is used in situations in which the subject (including the speaker himself) moves away from the speaker's current position and ирэх in situations in which the subject moves towards the speaker's current position. The usual reading for очих is to go, but occasionally it corresponds more closely to to come.
