Etymology edit
From Old Pskovian съ+юза (juza),[1] from Proto-Slavic *ǫzъ (“bond, tie”). Compare у́зы (úzy). Previously, it was traditionally explained by hypercorrection due to the influence of the Old Church Slavonic language.
