Old Armenian

Etymology

Martirosyan derives from կոստղ (kostł, “twigs on which bird-lime is smeared to entangle birds”) +‎ -ի (-i, “tree-suffix”). Bird-lime is a sticky substance prepared from holly-bark or mistletoe berries.
