Elative of وَفِير (wafīr, abundant) and وَافِر (wāfir, abundant, profuse) and وَفْر (wafr, abundant, general). Unusually, declined as if a color or defect adjective (according to Steingass and Almaany; see below). Also compare وَفَّرَ (waffara, to save, to economize).
