North Levantine Arabic edit

Etymology edit

Most plausibly an extended form of Arabic كَأْس (kaʔs, cup, glass, wine glass), whence also North Levantine Arabic كاس (kās, glass for alcoholic drinks). Alternatively from Persian کاسه (kâse, bowl), which may, however, be an Arabic borrowing (though this is not certain).

Noun edit

كاسه (kāsef (plural كاسات (kāsāt))

  1. glass, cup
