گُذاشتَن (gozâštan) (present stem گُذار (gozâr) or ذار (zâr)) (transitive)

  1. to let, to permit, to allow (takes the subjunctive)
    Synonym: اجازه دادن (ejâze dâdan)
    معلم گذاشت که من به رستوران بروم. (more literary)
    mo'allem gozâšt ke man be restorân beravam.
    The teacher let me go to the restaurant.
    معلم گذاشت من برم رستوران. (more colloquial)
    mo'allem gozâšt man beram restorân.
    The teacher let me go to the restaurant.
