तस्मा

  1. Devanagari script form of tasmā (“therefore”)
    • c. 500 AD, Kaccāyana, Pālivyākaraṇaṃ [Pali Grammar]‎[1], page 1; republished as Satish Chandra Acharyya Vidyabhusana, editor, Kaccayana's Pali Grammar (edited in Devanagari character and translated into English), Calcutta, Bengal: Mahabodhi Society, 1901:
      अक्खर-विपत्तियं अत्थस्स दुन्नयता होति। तस्‍मा अक्खर-कोसल्लं बहूपकारं सुत्तन्तेसु।
Akkhara-vipattiyaṃ atthassa dunnayatā hoti. Tasmā akkhara-kosallaṃ bahūpakāraṃ suttantesu.
The sense becomes unintelligible, if there occurs any mistake in the arrangement of letters. So, for one who is to prosecute the studies of the Discourses, a minute knowledge of letters is of immense use.
