Thai edit

Etymology edit

From Old Khmer traipīṭaka, traiyapīttaka (literally Three Baskets), from trai, traiya (three) + pīṭaka, pīttaka (basket); equivalent to Thai ไตร (dtrai) +‎ ปิฎก. Cognate with Modern Khmer ត្រៃបិដក (traybedɑɑk). Compare Sanskrit त्रिपिटक (tripiṭaka), from which Thai ตรีปิฎก is derived.
