Etymology

A Kartvelian term. One theory links it to Mingrelian ბარჩხალი (barčxali, “glittering, brilliant”). Another theory explains it through Mingrelian ბორჯი (borǯi, “time”) and ღალი (ɣali, “take; walk”), therefore resulting in "passage of time".
