Compound of 暮れ (kure, darkening, setting of the sun, the 連用形 (ren'yōkei, continuative or stem form) of verb 暮れる (kureru, to get dark, to sunset)) +‎ 泥む (nazumu, to be on the verge of something happening).[1][2]
