Etymology edit
Compound of 素 (su, “purely, just, only”) + 泊まり (tomari, “staying over, spending the night, overnight lodging”, the 連用形 (ren'yōkei, “stem or continuative form”) of verb 泊まる tomaru, “to stay overnight”).[1][2] The tomari changes to domari as an instance of rendaku (連濁).
