Etymology edit

First attested in the Seokbo sangjeol (釋譜詳節 / 석보상절), 1447, as Middle Korean ᄉᆈ〯졎〮 (Yale: syǒy-cyéc). Equivalent to (soe-, of a cow) +‎ (jeot, milk).
