Etymology edit

From Proto-Indo-European *ud-ลr, *ud-n- (โ€œwaterโ€).[1][2] Cognate with Ancient Greek แฝ•ฮดฯ‰ฯ (hรบdลr). The -d- did not rhotacise into -ล™- by dissimilation of the following -r.[3][4]
