Kopf oder Zahl
German edit
Etymology edit
Literally, “head or number”.
Pronunciation edit
Audio (file)
Phrase edit
- (coin-flipping) heads or tails
Usage notes edit
- Most Euro coins do not show a head (neither did most Mark coins). Zahl is always the side that shows the value of the coin, or—if it is on both sides—shows it in larger font size. The other side is Kopf.
