From Middle French Risla, from Medieval Latin *Risilina, by metathesis from fluvius Lirizinus (Saint Germer), Latinized from a hydronym *Lericina, *Liricina, a form derived from the primitive name of the *Lera, also found in the of the village *Lira (compare La Vieille-Lyre) and ultimately related to the source of Liger.[1][2]
