Pronunciation of neuter adjectives

IMO, it's pronounced IPA^(key): [mlʲɪkəpʲɪˈtajʊɕːɪje], the ending for neuter adjectives being clearer despite the regular reduction rules. Not sure I will be able to find a source, though. In the Russian wiki the pronunciation was added by an anon, not sure he/she is contactable. The exception must be similar to радио, pronounced as IPA^(key): [ˈradʲɪo], not the expected IPA^(key): [ˈradʲɪə]. --Anatoli 03:21, 25 November 2010 (UTC)

The problem is the final unstressed e. The IPA symbol [e] represents the sound of the e in the Russian word шея, which is not correct for -ающее. I think it is much closer to ajʊɕːɪjɪ, or at most ajʊɕːɪjɛ. —Stephen (Talk) 16:00, 25 November 2010 (UTC)

I changed for IPA^(key): [mlʲɪkəpʲɪˈtajʊɕːɪjɛ] as a temporary solution, until a reliable source is found. IPA^(key): [mlʲɪkəpʲɪˈtajʊɕːɪjɪ] sounds weird to me, IPA^(key): [mlʲɪkəpʲɪˈtajʊɕːɪjə] would sound more natural but I haven't got a source for my claims. The major cases of vowel reductions are described but I don't know if all exceptions or additional rules are described.

The pronunciation of поле is described as IPA^(key): [ˈpo̞lʲə] in the Russian wiki. I'd say it sounds more like IPA^(key): [ˈpo̞lʲɛ] but never IPA^(key): [ˈpo̞lʲɪ] to me, so the usual reduction of unstressed [e] into IPA^(key): [ɪ] is not observed here. My point is, the final Russian "е" is pronounced much clearer than in other positions and is closer to the stressed pronunciation.

Another example: the difference in pronunciation of "красивое" and "красивая" in modern Russian is very clear. The latter has -IPA^(key): [jə] but the former -IPA^(key): [jɛ]. The final vowel in the plural form "красивые" is also clear, although the pre-reform spelling had "-ыя" and was pronounced differently in the past. I pronounce поле more like IPA^(key): [ˈpo̞lʲɛ], not IPA^(key): [ˈpo̞lʲə]. In поле this sound seems clear. To me, the sound of unstressed e in -ающее and -ивое is halfway between [ɛ] and [ɪ]. It is like a weak [ɛ] (or like [ɪ] with the flavor of [ɛ]). —Stephen (Talk) 22:32, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
