Isn't there another definition? edit

When I think "Diamond in the rough," I think not only the current definition, but also an exceptionally good item surrounded by garbage, literally like a diamond in a pile of rubble. An example of this would be someone who joins adultfriendfinder.com looking for a soulmate, or someone who can actually put up a good debate on Youtube.

Shouldn't this definition also be added? After all, a dictionary becomes obsolete as soon as it's printed BECAUSE people continue to find new words and definitions.

If we just let everyone add new meanings they invented for existing words, we would end up with a useless chaos (but feel free to add inventions at WT:LOP). If you can find the phrase used in the sense you mention, in a way that meets the conditions at WT:CFI, we will add it. Equinox 21:28, 2 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
I don't think this term is related to just people. I think you can use it for objects as well. Bluesoju (talk) 06:31, 7 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
