- If it's obsolete or archaic then it must be flagged as such. In modern English, as we present it here, it is definitely a misspelling. To say otherwise is to mislead our readers and people trying to learn English by giving them errors, simply because a handful of us prefer to spell things in a bizarre archaic way.
