Metal support for pots and pans on stove? edit

I have also seen hod used in the UK as the metal supports upon which pots and pans rest upon a stove. In middle English it was the grate upon which pots and kettles rested in the cooking process.

You're not thinking of hob, are you? Or perhaps they're related? Equinox 22:03, 18 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

bookie’s bag edit

I’ve just this second finished watching the second part of the TV series ‘The Real Peaky Blinders’ on BBC2 and they mention there that ‘hod’ means bookie’s bag - might be worth adding as a quote if this meaning is challenged? Overlordnat1 (talk) 22:06, 14 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
